Plastic shredders are mainly used for various polymer materials, such as PET bottles, PE films, PP woven bags and other flexible materials. Its core components use special alloy cutters to achieve gentle crushing through the principle of biaxial shearing, and can be equipped with screens of different apertures to control the particle size of the discharge (usually 5-20mm). Metal shredders are specially designed for processing high-hardness waste materials, such as automobile shells, home appliance shells, aluminum alloy profiles, etc. They use a heavy hammer or blade structure, with a working pressure of more than 300 tons, and can effectively crush metal sheets with a thickness of less than 15mm.

Technical differences

Structural strength: The metal shredder body is welded with Q345B steel plates, and the overall weight is 2-5 times that of the same-level plastic shredder

Power system: 55kW motor is the basic configuration of metal machines, while plastic machines usually only need 15-30kW

Safety design: Metal equipment must be equipped with overload protection devices, while plastic machines pay more attention to dust prevention and anti-winding

Performance advantages

Plastic shredders have the characteristics of low energy consumption (0.3-0.5kWh/t) and easy maintenance, which is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized recycling stations. Although the investment cost of metal shredders is relatively high, the processing efficiency is outstanding (8-15t/h), and the new generation of products has realized intelligent sorting functions, which can simultaneously separate plastic and rubber impurities in metals.

Application scenarios

Plastic shredders are widely used in: plastic recycling plants, packaging waste treatment centers, electronic waste plastic recycling lines, etc.

Metal shredders mainly serve: scrapped car dismantling companies, waste home appliance processing plants, metal smelting pretreatment sections, etc.
