Gold refining and extraction is a complex industrial process that requires professional equipment and technical support. In terms of extraction principles, modern processes mainly use cyanidation and electrolysis. The cyanidation method dissolves the gold in the ore through cyanide solution, and then obtains gold mud through activated carbon adsorption or zinc powder replacement; the electrolysis method uses electric current to reduce the gold ions in the gold-containing solution to pure gold. The refining process mostly uses Miller chlorine method or electrolytic refining, which can purify gold to more than 99.99%.

Environmental benefits are an important consideration for modern gold extraction technology. Advanced closed-loop circulation systems can effectively recover cyanide and reduce environmental pollution; the elimination of amalgam method reduces the risk of heavy metal pollution; and the recovery of gold from electronic waste realizes the recycling of resources and reduces the environmental damage of mineral mining.

In terms of economic benefits, although the initial equipment investment is large, efficient extraction equipment can significantly increase the gold recovery rate (up to more than 95%) and reduce production costs. In particular, gold is extracted from electronic waste, with low raw material costs and considerable profit margins. As gold prices continue to rise, the investment payback period is further shortened.

The difficulty of extraction depends on the type of raw material. The extraction of native gold ore is relatively complex and requires multiple processes such as crushing and grinding; while the gold concentration in electronic waste is high, the extraction process is simplified, but professional pretreatment equipment is required. In general, with technological advances, the threshold for gold extraction is being lowered, but environmental protection and safety requirements are becoming increasingly stringent, which also prompts companies to adopt more advanced extraction equipment and processes.
